6/2/2019 Sunday School Lesson Moses Makes New Tablets Exo 34:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. Exo 34:2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount. Exo 34:3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. Exo 34:4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. The Lord requires Moses to make two more tablets of stone like the first ones that he broke in his anger. He also told him to be ready the next morning to come up to the top of the same mountain as before. Moses is to be the only one on the mountain. Nothing is to be even near the mountain. Exo 34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. Exo 34:6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Exo 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. Just as the Lord promised, He showed up where He said he would proclaiming the name of the Lord. He proclaimed all that He is and will be. However, all that He proclaimed is who He should be to the children of Israel. Exo 34:8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. Exo 34:9 And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance. When the Lord showed up, Moses quickly bowed his head and worshipped Him. Moses then asked the Lord to walk among His people again. Moses confessed that the people were stiffnecked and had sinned. He asked for forgiveness and to take them back for the Lord’s inheritance. The Covenant Renewed Exo 34:10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. The Lord then tells Moses that He wants to make a covenant with the children of Israel. This is an actual renewing of the old covenant that they had broken. The Lord will do marvels that have never been seen by any people on earth. The Lord then fills Moses in on these things….. Exo 34:11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Exo 34:12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: Exo 34:13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: Exo 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: The Lord promises to drive out of the promised land the current occupants that included the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites. The Lord warned them to make no covenant with these other nations. But, instead, they should destroy their altars, their idols and cut down their groves. These groves were where they had their temples that housed the idols and altars. The Lord then warns Moses that they are to worship no other god. The Lord reveals that He has another name, the name, Jealous. He is a jealous God. Exo 34:15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; Exo 34:16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. Exo 34:17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. The Lord warns about making covenants with the other inhabitants. He also warns about the sons of Israel taking wives from the other inhabitants. All this will cause the children of Israel to worshipping other gods. The Lord tells that they shall not make no molten gods. Exo 34:18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. Exo 34:19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. Exo 34:20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty. The feast of the unleavened bread is to be kept. Also, the firstborn male of man and beast belongs to the Lord. None of these shall appear before the Lord having not been redeemed. (Exodus 13:13) Exo 34:21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest. Exo 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. Exo 34:23 Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel. Exo 34:24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. Exo 34:25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning. Exo 34:26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. The will work 6 days but on the 7th day they will rest no matter what time of year it is. They are to observe the feast of the weeks. One is during wheat harvest and the other is during the ingathering. Three times a year, all males will appear before the Lord. The Lord himself will make sure that the other nations are kept away during these three times a year. The blood of the sacrifice is not be offered with leaven. The sacrifice of the feast of the Passover is to be eaten before morning. Whatever is left is to be burnt up. The first of all their crops is to be brought to the house of the Lord. They are to never take a lamb that is still on it’s mother’s milk. Exo 34:27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. Exo 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. The Lord commanded Moses to write all these things down for this is their covenant with the Lord but most importantly it is the Lord’s covenant with them. Moses was there on the top of the mountain with the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights. He neither ate or drink anything. The Lord wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant and the ten commandments. The Shining Face of Moses Exo 34:29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. Exo 34:30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. Exo 34:31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. Exo 34:32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. Exo 34:33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. Moses came down from the mountain with the two tables of stone in his hands. However, this time there was something notably different about him. His face shone with a glow that made Aaron and the children of Israel afraid to come near him. Moses called Aaron and the rulers back over to talk to them. Moses put a vail over his face so the children of Israel would listen him so that he could tell them all the Lord had commanded. Exo 34:34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. Exo 34:35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. The only time Moses removed the vail is when he went in to talk to the Lord. When he came out, he put the vail back over his face. There is always something different about someone that spends a lot of time with God.

“From The Pastor’s Desk” June 2, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for another service in the House of the Lord (our Church) because here in Lighthouse the Word of God will be honored and preached, and the Holy Spirit will be called upon to anoint the preaching and the preacher of His Word to accomplish God’s will in the hearts of His people. As a Christian and as a Preacher of the Gospel I’m thankful when I hold in my hands our KJB1611 it is the very words and thoughts of God that He promised to preserve to every generation in: (Psalms 12:6-7) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. (KJB) I understand that God the Holy Spirit speaks to us from His Word but I can also see that “Sometimes God Speaks To Us In A Still, Small Voice” and this truth can clearly be seen in the life of Elijah: (1 Kings 19:11, 12) And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (KJB) Also keep in mind that God’s “still small voice” will never go against the clear teachings of His Word that we have written down for us in our KJB1611 because today God speaks to His people from His Word first: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJB) Think with me about how significant this truth is because Elijah was in hiding for his life, even though God had spectacularly answered his prayer with fire from heaven. Jezebel, however, had not been intimidated by Elijah’s victory and swore she would kill him. He fell into such depression that he wanted to die. In his mind if Jezebel could not be impressed with fire from heaven, how could Elijah ever hope to defeat her and her armies? Not even an angel could remove his doubts and fears at that time. But then God sent “a great and strong wind,” and “after the wind an earthquake” (1 Kings 19:11) And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: (KJB) But as the Scripture tells us here the Lord was not in the wind or the earthquake or in the fire. God finally reached Elijah with “a still small voice,” and that voice assured him that God was well in control of all the circumstances surrounding his life. This is how it is in our lives today whatever circumstance we find ourselves in; God is in control and He is working all things out for our good. We should always listen to God’s Word when we study it and when we hear it taught, and preached but as we do these things faithfully we should also listen for God’s “still small voice” as He speaks to our hearts and minds. It was prophesied of the Lord Jesus in the Old Testament Book of Isaiah that “he shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.” And it was also promised “he shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth” (Isaiah 42:2, 4) He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. (Vs.4) He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. (KJB) In our human impatience, we think God should always move immediately in great strength when we pray. Then unless there are large numbers of converts and displays of power, we grow discouraged, like Elijah. But God more often than we realize speaks to us in a “still, small voice” and He works in a quiet way in our lives: (Isaiah 30:18, 21) And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. (Vs. 21) And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. (KJB) That still small voice of the Lord can be heard when you listen to the preaching of His Word along with the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and that is what brought God’s salvation to each of us the day we got saved; so thank God for that “still small voice” in your heart and don’t ever take it for granted. “From The Pastor’s Desk” May 26, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” today for our services! We just came through one of the best revivals we’ve ever had here in Lighthouse. With the wonderful revival we had with Preacher King in April and now this one in May with Preacher Blain all of us if we were faithful to listen to every message preached we should be able to “Recognize God’s Presence In Our Lives, And In Our Church.” The Word of God has recorded in it an example of the Presence of God with His people in: (2 Chronicles 5:13-14) It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. (KJB) There never has been a building to compare with the amazing temple constructed by Solomon to provide a place of worship for God and His people. The vision for the building was originally given to David, and when God told the great king it would be his son who would carry out the project, and not him David spent the final years of his life and reign preparing materials and helping Solomon plan for the sacred place that would house the “Ark of the Covenant”. After years of careful work, when the building was finally complete, Solomon held a great dedication service. During that service, the visible presence of the Spirit of God filled the building in such power that the people could not stay inside. The Holy Spirit has recorded accounts like this in His Word for us to show each of us the importance of “Recognizing God’s Presence In Our Lives And In Our Church” so we could understand that God is always with His people (the saved). Many people read this story and think how wonderful it would be to see God’s presence displayed like that once again. Yet in truth and in actuality every believer has the same Holy Spirit in his life living in his heart from the very moment of salvation taking place. This truth is so very important that the Holy Spirit wrote through the apostle Paul and said in: (Romans 8:9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJB) The Lord Jesus said to every believer in: (John 14:16-17) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (KJB) So we have the Holy Spirit of God always with us and in us as true believers. The problem with us today is we are living in a world that denies God, the Lord Jesus, and the Christian Faith and many times because of the weakness of the flesh we let the world and the problems that come our way in it cloud our thinking, and then we take our eyes off of our Saviour. So it is not that we do not have God’s Presence in our lives, but the problem comes when we do things that obscure and hinder His work. His glory is always present with us, but sadly many times we don’t see it because of the way in which we are living. So ask the Holy Spirit to bring back to your memory the things He said to you through the preaching of His Word in the various sermons preached in our revivals and then don’t allow anything in your life to hinder the working of the Holy Spirit’s power in your life. If you want victory over sin and over the weakness of your flesh you must live your life pleasing to God and live it God’s way and not your way and God’s way always involves faithfulness to His Word: (John 14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments. (KJB) ---- (John 14:23) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (KJB) The great Preacher “C. H. Spurgeon” once said “In the Cross there is a cure for every spiritual disease. There is food for every spiritual virtue in the Saviour. We never go to Him too often.” If you’re reading this letter and you are not saved realizing there is something missing in your life then that something missing is the Lord Jesus as your Saviour and Lord and God has brought you to this place of reading this letter so He can save you. If you are saved but you too realize that something is missing in your life then understand that God wants you to get back in fellowship with Him so you can recognize His Presence in your life once again like you did when you first got saved. The fix for the unsaved is God’s free-gift of salvation, and the fix for the out of God’s will believer is: (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

19/05/2019

From The Pastor’s Desk May 19, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for a wonderful service where we are pleased to have “Preacher Austin Vestrand” and his wonderful wife “Bree.” I love it when the Lord puts a service together here in our Church because I know when He puts it together it’s really special. But in my heart I think all our services here in Lighthouse are special because I know the Lord Jesus meets with us in our services. I am also thankful that each service we have here in Lighthouse, and every man of God that stands behind this pulpit will preach that “Jesus Is The Only Door To Heaven.” God’s Word (our KJB1611) declares in no uncertain terms and in many verses of Scripture that the Lord Jesus is the ONLY way into God’s Heaven: (John 10:1-3) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. (John 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJB) But as I sit here at my desk trying to get this “From The Pastor’s Desk” letter right I know as a preacher of the Gospel that the most important question every individual must answer in life is the question that determines his or her eternal destiny which is “Do I know the Lord Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour; have I been truly born-again supernaturally?” Despite what many in our day teach and promote, God has clearly and firmly declared that there is only one way to Heaven. There are not many paths all leading in the same general direction that eventually get everyone to the right destination. The only way that we can be justified in the sight of God Almighty is to accept by faith the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary and in His finished work there on our behalf: (John 10:9-10) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJB) Many people fail to receive salvation because while they believe that Jesus is important, they also wrongly think that they have to be part of the process by doing something to deserve or earn salvation. “Dr. Curtis Hutson” which was the second editor of the “Sword of the Lord” newspaper and organization put it this way: “I am a church member. I have been baptized. I try to live right. I have been preaching since I was twenty years old. I travel every week of my life going from church to church throughout this country to preach the Gospel. But I do none of these things to be saved. My only hope of Heaven is the fact that Jesus Christ died for me. He paid my sin debt. I am trusting Him alone for salvation. I am not trusting my good works, my church membership, my baptism, or anything else. When we stand before God, the only thing that He will count is what His Son did at Calvary.” Salvation is only found in Jesus Christ alone, and anything we try to add to His free-gift of salvation will keep us from truly receiving it. The Bible says clearly about God’s salvation in: (Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJB) ---- (Titus 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (KJV) The great prince of preachers “Charles Haddon Spurgeon” said of God’s free-gift of salvation “Human nature's way of salvation is, "Do, do, do." But God's way of salvation is, "Done, done, it is all done." “You have but to rely by faith on the atonement that Christ accomplished on the Cross.” This week in Lighthouse we are going to have some special “Revival Services” May 20th thru 23rd with “Preacher Blain Hudson” and his precious wife “Emily” and I can guarantee you that the Word of God will be preached clear and accurate to what God says in His Word each night in every message on the subject of salvation. So if you’re not sure of your salvation or you know someone who is not saved get them here this week and I know the Holy Spirit will speak to their hearts about their greatest need which is to be saved and if they turn to Christ in repentance and faith trusting only in Christ finished work on Calvary God will give them the faith to get saved. This is the reason the Lord Jesus came into this world: (Luke 19:10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (KJB) If you’re reading this letter today unsaved God has allowed this letter to get into your hands with this truth about getting saved so don’t pass this off; do something about your greatest need which is to get born-again as Jesus commanded in: (John 3:3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

From The Pastor’s Desk” May 12, 2019 Happy Mother’s Day! As your Pastor I pray that this will truly be a wonderful day in the lives of you mothers on this special day. “Mother’s Day” was created by a woman named “Anna Jarvis” in 1908 and it became an official U.S. holiday in 1914 to honor the mothers of this great nation of ours. Your Pastor thanks God for each person that makes up Lighthouse but you ladies and you mothers really make a difference here in our Church in decorating it, and on the special service days where we would need to feed folks that come here to visit with us. But you ladies and you mothers also add something special by your very presence in the services here in Lighthouse. As your Pastor when I read and study the Word of God I realize that sin is real and it destroys lives, and families and I understand that the consequences of sin is “The Real Choice Mother’s Must Face” because you know what sin will do in the lives of your family members that either aren’t saved, or are living worldly lives as wayward believers. The Word of God speaks to us about this truth in a way that is both informative and warning when it says in: (Romans 6:16-18) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (KJB) The cold hard facts about sin is this “sin will take you further than you want to go, cost you more than you want to pay, and keep you longer than you want to stay.” One of the most effective deceptions practiced by Satan is to convince people that they have a choice to be completely free in the world with no consequences for their actions, and choices so people that care not about the consequences of sin believe that making sinful decisions and going their own way is just the way to go and there’s no pay day ahead for their sinful choices: (Proverbs 30:12) There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. (KJB) This lie has led countless people both young and old to destruction by playing with sin. The truth is that every man, woman, boy, and girl born into this world is a servant to something. The only freedom we have is in the choice of what or who we will serve. By the power of God through the Gospel, we are offered the choice to serve righteousness rather than sin. But if we do not exercise that choice making good, godly decisions then even as believers, we will live in bondage to sin. So you mothers can make a difference in your families if you stand for the Word of God, stand for the Lord Jesus and reject the sinful ways of this world teaching by your choices, your actions, and your godly example that it is better to live for Jesus than to serve sin. Sin is deceitful: (Hebrews 3:13) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (KJB) The illusion of freedom is quickly shattered once the consequences of sin begin to appear in a person’s life (our life). The fleeting pleasures of sin are quickly replaced by chains and bondage. The harvest of the seeds that we sow cannot be avoided. The sinful choice that leads to freedom from God’s service inevitably leads to bondage to Satan. But the godly choices that lead to freedom from sin places us in binding, loving service to God. So we can see if we are thinking with a true Christians mind, guided by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, living the life of a true Christian then we “reap” good godly results for our choices: (Galatians 6:8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (KJB) As a mother or grandmother if you are saved then stand for God and be that real true Bible believing and Bible practicing Christian in your family; you will never make a difference for Jesus by going along with sin. The one time that you do compromise sin may be the only ammunition Satan needs against you and your family; stand for Jesus and be that real Christian in your families eyes because that may be the one thing that the Holy Spirit would use to get them saved that would really make a difference. Consider if you will the Prodigal Son. When he left his father’s home for the far country, he thought he was moving toward freedom and fun. He would leave behind his father’s rules and live as he chose pursuing any sin he desired. Instead he found himself with the dirty job of feeding pigs and being so hungry he was coveting what they ate, the slop! That is the path we choose when we decide to pursue freedom by throwing off the “bonds” of God’s requirements. Sinful choices only lead to slavery and suffering. There is no true freedom apart from choosing to serve God and righteousness in this world. This “Mother’s Day” decide once and for all to live for Jesus living faithfully by the Word of God because your choice to follow Jesus may lead to your families salvation if you stand true to your profession of faith in Christ: (Hebrews 10:23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” May 5, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for another service in a true to the Word of God “Christian” Church, because it is in a true Christian Church where the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached as the only means and way of salvation: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: As a Christian, and as a sinner saved by grace I’m thankful for the day the Holy Spirit moved my life around to where I heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I trusted the Lord Jesus to be my personal Lord and Saviour July 14 1974. I’m thankful because “Our Past Condition Before Salvation” was not good and it was a life that was under the actual wrath of Almighty God: (John 3:36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJB) I was spiritually blinded by sin, self, and Satan to my lost condition and anyone who is not saved according to the mandates of God’s Word is actually on their way to an awful place called Hell where real people go if they die in their sins, and die without knowing Christ as Lord and Saviour: (Ephesians 2:1) And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (KJB) ---- (Ephesians 2:5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (KJB) But the Word of God gives us three accurate and to the point descriptions in Scripture of how God sees all unsaved people, lost sinners prior to getting saved before God’s salvation takes place in their hearts and lives. These descriptions the Holy Spirit of God has preserved for us should be to the lost sinner eye-opening and descriptions given by God to grab their attention. 1. We were dead in trespasses (activities) and sins (character, attitude, condition). The result in our lives was that we were unable to understand or seek God on our own: (Romans 3:10-11) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. (KJB) Nor are we able to know the things of God by our own intellectual understanding without the Holy Spirit revealing to us our lost condition: (1 Corinthians 2:14) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (KJB) 2. We “walked according to the course of this world” (Ephesians 2:2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (KJB) We were also in bondage to the world: (Galatians 4:3) Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: (KJB) and we were spiritually blinded by Satan to the message of the Gospel and to our need of salvation: (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJB) 3. We are by “nature the children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Both our natural desires and our willing unbelief put us under an ever-increasing wrathful judgment of God yet to come in our lives as long as we rebel against God and reject the Gospel: (Romans 2:5-6) But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: (KJB) But the transformation performed by God the Holy Spirit on us at the moment of salvation taking place in our hearts and lives can only be “his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus” and it involves God’s rich mercy and great love to make us alive spiritually when we were dead. That power raises and seats us with God in the heavens all because we got saved. That amazing grace of God given to us at the moment of salvation is effected through faith, and not by any good works of our own: (Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJB) So whatever being born-again may ultimately involve, it assures us the new Christian of permanent status as a child of God: (John 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (KJB) Whether the lost person wants to believe it or not does not change the truth of God’s Word which is this, Jesus, God in the flesh said: “ye must be born again.” Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” April 28, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for another wonderful day where we come together to worship, praise, and honor the Lord Jesus and the Gospel. But it is also another day where the Word of God will be preached and the Gospel message will be presented to everyone here today. We are honored to have here today “Preacher John Correll” that is standing in for me while I am away preaching at New Britton Baptist Church that is still without a Pastor. But in both of these churches the Gospel will be preached today! The Gospel will be preached in the power of the Holy Spirit because of the dangers of “The Slavery Of Sin” that affects all people. In the Bible (our KJB1611) the Holy Spirit has recorded through the Apostle Paul in the Book of Titus the results in a life that is affected by “The Slavery Of Sin” and it says: (Titus 3:2-3) To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. (KJB) For an excellent but sad illustration of a life governed, and affected in a most awful way by the slavery of sin we can look at the life of “John Newton.” Before his conversion, John Newton was a profane and violent slave trader. After a confrontation with fellow crew members in 1745, Newton was abandoned in Africa and spent three years as a slave himself—a period which he called being “a servant of slaves.” It was after his rescue in 1748 that Newton was saved and he went on to write one of the most famous hymns that Christians all over the world sing today “Amazing Grace.” In his life he became a powerful preacher and an advocate for the end of the slave trade but Newton never forgot his own time in chains, and the effects of sin in his life. God’s Word describes one aspect of sin as an enslavement and when we examine sin in this way we can see very clearly the slavery of sin in what the Holy Spirit had the apostle Paul write in: (Romans 7:5, 8, 11) For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. (8) But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. (11) For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. (KJB) When we read about the horror of slavery (which is an illustration to how sin ruins lives), which is not just a relic of the past, but is still practiced in many places today, we find it hard to picture a worse way to live than being a slave. A slave does not have the ability to control his or her own life. The slave master sets the terms. Of course sin does not present that part of the picture when we are tempted by sin. It is only afterward that we realize the fetters, the chains, the ruined lives that follow sin and the results of going against God’s Word. Sin working in a person’s life blinds, binds, and grinds till it destroys the family and the life of the person living in sin. The power of sin can only be broken apart by a stronger power and the Lord Jesus on the Cross of Calvary was that power that purchased not just our salvation, but our freedom from sin. Yet too often we volunteer to go back to the chains that should have no power over our lives. This is why the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul admonishes us to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1 KJB) Once before we were saved we had no choice, no power, no will to resist sin and its allurements but as blood washed believers when we sin today, it is because we want to, not because we have to. Having been made free by Christ, we must not return again to the slavery of serving sin. The lost person is blinded by sin, self, and Satan and they are slaves to sin in this world but we as Bible believing, washed in the blood of Christ Christians we don’t have to sin when it comes knocking at our life’s door because of the Lord Jesus living in us: (John 1:29) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (KJB) ---- (1 John 1:7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (KJB) And the best way to stay faithful and living a victorious Christian life is to walk in the Spirit: (Galatians 5:16-17) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (KJB) If we stay in Church faithfully, stay in the Word of God studying it daily, and have a consistent prayer life these three most needful things will help us to not be “slaves to sin.” If you are here today and you know you are not saved and sin is destroying your life come to Christ in repentance and faith trusting only in Him to be your personal Saviour and Lord and then you won’t be chained down to being a “slave to sin.” Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” April 21, 2019 Happy Easter my brothers and sisters in Christ here in Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church!!! What a wonderful day we have here before us where we get to celebrate and make special emphasis on the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the 33 years the Lord Jesus physically walked upon this earth before Calvary took place He suffered many things at the hand of sinful men and one thing He suffered was the soldiers “Gambling Around Calvary” as He hung there suffering for our sins. The Bible speaks to us about this happening in: (Psalms 22:18) They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. (KJB) The Bible (the KJB1611) also shows us the gambling by the soldiers around the Cross in: (John 19:23-24) Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. (KJB) So there is something the Holy Spirit wants us to realize about this and its connection to Easter. The 22nd Psalm is justly famous as a remarkable prophetic preview of the sufferings and death of the Lord Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. It was written by David approximately 1,000 years before it was ever fulfilled by the Lord Jesus. It describes in accurate detail the sufferings of the Lord Jesus and the actions of the sneering spectators as they watched Him suffer, bleed, and die there upon that cruel Cross. One of the most heartless acts of the Roman soldiers carrying out the crucifixion was the indignity of stripping the Lord Jesus of the garments He was wearing and then dividing them among themselves, even gambling to determine who would get His seamless vesture. The significance of this cruel scene is indicated by the fact that it is one of the very few specific events in the life of Christ that the Holy Spirit recorded in all four Gospels. We must not ever forget that the Lord Jesus in eternity past once had been arrayed, as it were, in beautiful garments that Psalms 45:8 shows us of when He was in Heaven before His coming in a filthy cow stall in Bethlehem: (Psalms 45:8) All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. (KJV) But He who was “equal with God” chose to be “made in the likeness of men” that He might eventually suffer “even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:6-8) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (KJB) Jesus did this in order to save our unworthy souls: (2 Corinthians 8:9) For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (KJB) He (the Lord Jesus) who had created the heavens, when He came to Earth, had to say that “the Son of man hath not where to lay his head” in: (Matthew 8:20) And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. (KJB) And His few remaining possessions were scavenged by His executioners as He died there on Calvary. Yet through His great sacrifice, He has provided “everlasting habitations” for us; and His death, burial, and bodily resurrection makes this all possible, and even the “Gambling Around Calvary” was part of the price that Christ endured to pay our debt of sin: (Luke 16:9) And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. (KJB) and “all spiritual blessings in heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (KJB) Indeed, we do know the grace of our Lord Jesus! What He endured at the hands of even the soldiers and the shame they tried to make Him feel as they gambled for His clothes shows us the love of God and Christ’s victory at the empty tomb has made the one and only way for us to get saved and actually enjoy the true meaning of Easter. The lost world will try to forget and take away from what this day stands for just like the soldiers tried gambling for His vesture but the lost world today tries to do it with a bunny rabbit. But thank God we as Christians know what this day is; it’s all about Christ and His bodily resurrection! If you’re not saved here today, and if you have come to Lighthouse for our services this would be a great day while God grabs your attention to come to faith in the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Don’t put it off this may be the last chance God gives you to truly get born-again: (John 3:3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” April 14, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for the beginning of a new week where we get to start it in the House of God here in Lighthouse. Sunday being the first day of the week I can think of no better way to start it than being in God’s House worshipping, praising, listening to God’s Word being preached, and fellowshipping with my brothers and sisters in Christ. But after we start a great week with the Lord on Sunday and then being with the family of God we as Christians should go out into the hi-ways and by-ways and tell people about the love of God by giving them the message of the Gospel. Part of that giving out of the Gospel message may at times require us to “Take Up Our Cross” by bearing some burden or hardship that requires us to deny ourselves. God’s Word speaks of this in: (Matthew 16:24-26) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (KJB) To be a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, there must be denial of self as well as a willingness to suffer persecution for our faith, even unto death. Though crucifixion is no longer a part of the world as it was in the times of Christ, the principle still remains. Being a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ requires total dedication and self denial. The word “deny” here means to “forget one’s self,” or to “lose sight of one’s self and one’s own interests.” Self is the essence of sin and the flesh. To be a disciple of Jesus Christ requires no less than the self-discipline to deny self and its interests putting Christ and the Gospel first. Therefore, discipleship unquestionably includes physical discipline but also spiritual discipline. Few are they in this religious but lost world around us who are true disciples of Christ because we see many people who claim to be a Christian but in their actions, and in their lifestyle, and in their choices their life doesn’t prove it out to be true. A great Missionary of old “Jonathan Goforth,” 1859-1936 who spent many years as a missionary in China, recounted the story of two young Chinese men who lived in a neighboring province. They purchased copies of the New Testament from a bookseller and began to read the Word of God in their own language. When they came to the instruction of Jesus to take up the cross, they were not clear on what it meant. So following the instruction literally, they made crosses out of bamboo. The Chinese translation said to “bear his cross on his back,” and so they tied the crosses to their shoulders and carried them everywhere they went. Soon they were directed to the mission outpost in Liuchow where they were presented the Gospel. When they understood that Christ had already taken the punishment for their sins on His back as He died on the Cross of Calvary, they trusted Him as their Saviour: (Philippians 2:6-8) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (KJB) When they finally understood the true meaning of the Gospel they returned to their village to tell others the good news of the saving Gospel message. The cross bearing that God commands for us to do and to bear is not usually a literal demand to carry an actual cross, but it is a symbol of sacrifice and self denial. Those who are not willing to give up what they hold most dear cannot follow Jesus, because that is what He did, even before His death on the Cross; the Lord Jesus gave up the wonders and splendors of Heaven just to suffer, bleed, and die for our sins: (2 Corinthians 8:9) For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (KJB) Anything we cling to in this life more than the Lord Jesus will prevent us from walking in His footsteps. It is impossible to follow Jesus and live as He did without first taking up the cross and dying to self and following Him. As Christians we hold in our hands the very Word of God in our KJB1611 and in that Word we can read the greatest message of love and hope the world has ever known. If the world around us doesn’t see us denying ourselves, putting Christ first in our lives, and living faithfully for Jesus then they won’t believe the Gospel message we try to share with them. Many times we say in testimony at Church “I love Jesus” but the people around our lives need to “see” that the love we have for Jesus is true and they’ll only see it in our lives as we “Take Up Our Cross” and follow the Lord Jesus faithfully in our lives. The message we share is the love of God for all mankind: (John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

07/04/2019

“From The Pastor’s Desk” April 7, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for our Sunday Services! We had such a great revival this past week with Preacher King preaching to us and I felt each night that the Holy Spirit visited with us and touched hearts and lives. Some people came here with sad hearts but once the Holy Spirit started working in their heart things changed. As Christians and as sinners truly saved by grace but still sinners we need to earnestly get it in our hearts and in our minds that “God’s Way Is The Only Way” and “Our Way Is The Wrong Way.” The Holy Spirit speaking to us from His Word about this truth wrote in: (Psalms 25:1-5) Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. (KJB) Sadly we live in a world that glorifies self-guidance, self-esteem, and self-centeredness more than what God’s Word teaches us about ourselves. Those who go their own way in life like rebels are often held up as heroes by the lost world and even by the religious but lost despite the fact that such a path in life often leads to pain if not complete destruction of a life. Sadly worldly false or even weak believers today think they can live with one foot in the world and one foot in God’s House professing true salvation. But sadly many lack true possession of God’s salvation so they only have a “head I’m saved salvation” where their life never changes instead of real true life-changing “heart I’m saved salvation” which is true Bible salvation. As a Preacher of God’s Word I believe that when a person really gets saved from his sin he will make a public profession of his faith in Christ and their life will change: (2 Corinthians 5:17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJB) A great preacher of old “Lester Roloff” once said of true salvation “I don’t believe in these little secret decisions. We’ve had too much of this "Ya’ll just slip down the isle." Slip, nothing; come a walkin’ and a talkin’ and a weepin’ and a repenting. It’s all right for the devil’s crowd to slip around, but we’re not slipping anywhere. You’re not going to slip into Heaven. We’re going to go there by grace through faith!” Many well meaning Christ loving Christians today with lost family members are subject to the temptation to think that their family is saved so long as they prayed a little prayer where their life has actually never changed. Many of our questionable about salvation family members look for “loopholes” and ways to make the Bible say what they want it to say so that they can do what they want to do and think what they want to think, but if a person can live in sin as the habit of their life then they have never been truly saved. All kinds of sins in this world are justified from verses taken out of context, and from doctrines constructed out of thin air and it seems that the closer the friend or the family member the more we’ll easily deviate from God’s Word to make them saved in our minds. As true Christians rather than trying to force our will or our way of thinking on the Word of God, we should take the Word of God as it is and ask the Holy Spirit to help us rightly understand it and apply it to our lives because there are only two ways available in this life for us “our own way or God’s way.” Those who insist on setting their own course through life in direct opposition to God’s plan can have it, but they will only get it at great cost. The Bible says in: (Proverbs 5:11-12) And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; (KJB) True wisdom seeks to learn and apply the truths of Scripture rather than getting its own way through the sinful thinking of man. As sure as we live, it is God who must bring about Bible repentance that brings true salvation. Have you repented? The Lord Jesus said in: (Luke 13:3) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (KJB) The Lord Jesus is God in the flesh so it would do us well to listen to Him; eternity is at stake! True God-given Bible “Repentance” unto salvation is a godly sorrow for sin. True repentance is a forsaking of sin. Real repentance is putting your trust in Jesus Christ alone so you will not live like that anymore. True Bible repentance is permanent. It is a lifelong, life-changing and an eternity-long experience. You will never love the devil again once you repent and get supernaturally born-again into God’s family. You will never flirt with the devil as the habit of your life again once you get saved. You will never be happy living in sin; it will never satisfy; and the husks of the world will never fill the longing and hungering in your soul. Repentance is something a lot bigger than a lot of people think. It is absolutely essential if you are to go and live in God’s Heaven: (Luke 13:5) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” March 31, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for our services today and the rest of this week seeing as our “Revival” starts on Monday the 1st with “Dr. Duane King” preaching each night at 7:00 PM. For weeks I have been mentioning our Revival Services that are upon us and I pray that you’ve been praying for these services and praying that God would send revival to every person in this wonderful church. I know as a Christian of 44 years where I have been in many revival services where God has touched hearts and lives and I truly believe that God can touch each heart and life here in Lighthouse during these services. But before God will touch our hearts with a spirit of revival our prayers should be “God send revival to me” personally and the only way He will do that is that each of us “Get Serious About God, And Him Sending Revival.” The Holy Spirit wrote of just such a believer praying seriously to God when He wrote to each of us in: (Jeremiah 29:12-13) Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (KJB) God in His Word makes it clear that He will answer prayer when it’s prayed according to His will: (1 John 5:14) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (KJB) And with these services starting Monday night with a good man of God preaching what God puts on his heart for us, we need to seriously seek after God asking Him to send revival to our hearts. There are many resources and teachings available for Christians today on the subjects of growing in grace, faithfulness, experiencing revival, and becoming closer to God (such as the article in the recent Sword of the Lord given out this past Wednesday night). I’m thankful for all the Scripturally sound books, articles, and pamphlets etc. that are faithful to the Bible and encourage good habits and correct doctrine. But in truth this is not a difficult subject to understand the difficulty is in the execution of those Biblical principles taught, and not the education of them. The bottom line of our Christian life is determined by the condition of our heart. If the heart is not fixed on God, other things in life will interfere to draw us away from Him. Another good man of God by the name of “A. W. Tozer” once said, “Come near to the holy men and women of the past, and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out; and when they had found Him, the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking…Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth.” As your Pastor I cannot over stress the importance of the theme of this “From The Pastor’s Desk” because if there was ever a time when we need revival in our lives personally, and here in our Church it is now. We don’t have to look far and see God’s people, God’s Churches, and the cause of Christ (the Gospel) under attack and God’s people getting more and more complacent, and less faithful. The answer to all these problems and the places where the Christian faith is under attack is true Holy Ghost sent revival into our hearts and lives. We don’t have to rely on our own strengths to fix our hearts on God and experience revival. He enables and equips us to seek Him as He commands. The Holy Spirit said “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26 KJB) If we only seek to follow God partially, halfheartedly, with an appearance of faithfulness, and then only doing lip-service to wanting revival then all our weak efforts will be doomed to failure—nothing less than total commitment to God, to the cause of Christ, and to actually wanting revival in our hearts and here in Lighthouse will do. If we do as the faithful, serious Christians did in the past when they “mourned for Him, they prayed, they wrestled spiritually, and they sought after Him” for revival then we will also experience true revival in our hearts this week as they did in days gone by. Each one of our families have people in them that are lost, and undone dying in their sins and on their way to Hell and the only way we will seek after their salvation is when we get close to God, experience revival in our hearts, and then get a burden down deep in our hearts to see them saved. And it can all start in our hearts this week if we let it, and as we seek after God to send revival to us personally. If you are reading this letter realizing that there is something missing in your life even as a Christian it just may be that touch of revival God wants to give His people. But if you’re reading this letter realizing that you do not truly know the Lord Jesus as your personal Saviour then do as the Lord Jesus said in: (Matthew 7:7-8) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (KJB) If you truly seek after God for salvation He will save you and the only way you will seek after Him is Jesus drawing you to salvation. Don’t let this time in your life where God is drawing you to Him go by, it may never come again. Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

24/03/2019

From The Pastor’s Desk” March 24, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for another service in God’s House! As a Christian and as a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ my goal, my aim, and one of the marvelous truths from God’s Word that keeps me going from day to day and year to year is knowing that it is “God’s Amazing Grace” that saves the lost sinner, and this amazing grace can be expressed even clearer by saying grace is “God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.” (Romans 5:15) But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one [Adam] many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (KJB) God’s Word our KJB1611 Bible is an amazing, miracle Book that God Himself has preserved for us and is continuing to preserve for us to every generation, and each word in its place is where the Holy Spirit has placed them and they all mean something; even the order of the words God uses have meaning: (Psalms 12:6-7) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. (KJB) And when we are looking closely at God’s amazing grace we can see that it is always grace before peace: (1 Thessalonians 1:1) Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. (KJB) These are the very first of the Apostle Paul’s divinely inspired words, and in this first of his inspired greetings, he sets for us a pattern which he would later follow in all his other epistles by the direction of the Holy Spirit. He would always begin with a prayer that both grace and peace, sent from God the Father and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, would be received and experienced by the ones to whom he was writing (them in that day and us today). Furthermore, “grace” always precedes “peace” in these salutations, because we must receive the “grace of God” before we can truly experience the “peace of God” that comes through being saved. By this strong emphasis on grace preceding anything else Paul wrote to the church and confirmed the great importance of God’s saving-grace in salvation: (Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJB) Grace is the first essential in salvation and is the continuing vital essential in Christian living because after “saving-grace” takes place in the heart of the newly saved person God’s “serving-grace” helps the new Christian live a true Christian life. The Thessalonians had already been saved by grace through faith, but now the “serving-grace” from God the Father and Jesus Christ their Lord must also be lived out in their personal lives, especially in their dealings with others, to whom God would also make known His grace through them. The Holy Spirit also had the apostle Paul close every epistle He had him write with a prayer that the grace of the Lord Jesus would continue to be with all who read them. Finally, the last of his inspired words (written while Paul was in prison) to his young disciple Timothy and to every Christian by way of application were these: “The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” <> (2 Timothy 4:22 KJB) Every true Christian life must begin, continue, and end in the sustaining grace of the Saviour. Indeed, the very last revealed words of God Himself in the Holy Scriptures are in: (Revelation 22:21) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. (KJB) Thank God for His amazing grace! I’m just thankful today to be a true Bible Christian. I don’t deserve this title, I couldn’t earn this title through any good works, and I can’t even as a preacher of the Gospel today do enough things (religious ritual) in our Church here in Lighthouse to merit God’s saving and serving grace: (Titus 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (KJB) It is only by the love, mercy, and grace of God that I am saved and this is why any true Bible Christian always makes much of the Lord Jesus and the great price He paid there on Calvary and at the empty tomb for our sins. I invite you today to trust the Lord Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour and come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ if you’re not saved or not sure of your salvation. There is nothing in this world worth dying unsaved and in your sins. Eternity is a long time to have regrets and if you die unsaved then for all eternity you will regret that you did not get saved especially when the Lord has put this letter in your hands. “From The Pastor’s Desk” March 17, 2019 Welcome to church today for our Sunday Lord’s Day Service and I pray that you came here to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” today wanting to hear from God in the message. God the Holy Spirit wrote through the apostle Paul and said this about the preaching of His Word in: (1 Corinthians 1:21) For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (KJB) And seeing how God is behind and in the clear preaching from His Word (the KJB1611) then we can clearly understand “That The Old Serpent The Devil” will be fighting against each of us in being faithful to God’s House and also in the understanding of the message being preached today. The Holy Spirit telling us about the Devil gave us a specific phrase “the dragon, that old serpent” to help us see how evil he is and also his ultimate end in: (Revelation 20:2) And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (KJB) So this prophetic vision given to the apostle John for each of us leaves no doubt as to the identity of the serpent in the “Garden of Eden.” That “old serpent” who deceived our first parents (Adam and Eve) into rebelling against the Word of God is none other than the Devil, or Satan himself, often viewed in Scripture as typified by a “great dragon” (Revelation 12:9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (KJB) I thank God that Satan’s ultimate doom is sure—he will be bound a thousand years, then he will finally be “cast into the lake of fire . . . tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Revelation 20:10) And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (KJB) At present, however, he is not bound, for the Holy Spirit wrote in: (1 Peter 5:8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (KJB) So as Christians living in a progressively evil and Christ-denying world we must be more sober and ever vigilant each day God gives us to live because God warns us about the Devil and says in: (2 Corinthians 2:11) Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (KJB) The Devil’s devices are many and diverse and all of them are designed by him to be most deceptive because he was the most “subtle” of all God’s creatures, (Genesis 3:1) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (KJB) Satan is more wicked and evil even above what I can put into words in this letter, and he desires to turn weak in the faith Christians away from the Lord Jesus Christ by using troubles, trials, false Christians, sin, and the cares of this world: (2 Corinthians 11:3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (KJB) He is a great deceiver. He can appear as a fire-breathing dragon or as a roaring lion, deceiving us into fearing and obeying him instead of God. He can also be “transformed into an angel of light” the cults, and liberal modernistic preachers prove this: (2 Corinthians 11:14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (KJB) He can deceive even true believers into trusting the “feigned words” of his “false teachers and preachers” that are all around us (especially those on the TV and the internet): (2 Peter 2:1-3) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (KJB) The Devil wants us to just quit and listen to him instead of listening to the Holy Scriptures from the God of creation. Our remedy against his deceptions is to: (Ephesians 6:11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (KJB) and to stand fast in the faith by being a strong faithful Christian and obeying: (1 Corinthians 16:13) Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. (KJB) If you are not saved or not the faithful believer God desires for us to be then that should show you Satan’s power working behind the scenes of your life. Use this letter and the Scriptures contained here to turn it around in your life; get faithful, and if not saved get saved today because after death you won’t have an opportunity to do either. “From The Pastor’s Desk” March 10, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for our services this week. I thank God for every opportunity we have to come to God’s House (our Church) and I thank Him for each of our services where He meets with us. As a Christian I’m thankful that “We Serve A God Who Knows Us Personally” even down to our most inner being. He knows who is truly saved and who is not saved. He knows what breaks our hearts and He knows what makes us most happy. The Holy Spirit wrote of this great truth in: (Psalms 139:1-5) O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. (KJB) and to show each of us this wonderful truth more precisely the Bible records for us about the Lord Jesus in: (John 2:23-25) Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. (KJB) For an illustration to this truth I heard about a little boy just four years old who had been working on memorizing the Lord’s Prayer. Week after week he heard it in church and said the words along with the adults. But as often happens, he didn’t quite grasp all the words. So one Sunday he joined in, saying, “Our Father which art in Heaven, I know You know my name.” What’s the old saying about from the mouth of babes come the simplest of truths? This little fellow didn’t realize it but he told us a great truth about God. God does know our names and I’m glad and thankful that He knows mine! He knows everything about us down to the smallest of details. Jesus said, “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Luke 12:7 KJB) This intimate knowledge that God has of us can be and is a source of great strength and comfort during some of the hardest days in our life. It frees us from the fear that we have to make our way through this world alone. The same God who has the power to create all things has the knowledge of who we are, where we are, where we’re headed, and what we need most; He knows our names. There are more than seven billion people living on the Earth today. But that vast number is made up of individuals, each of whom is personally known to God by name. He not only looks at the world as a great mass of people, but He also looks closer at us as a single person in great need of His love and care, and I’m glad to read in Scripture that He does love each of us personally, and He sent His only begotten Son (the Lord Jesus) to suffer, bleed, die, and then resurrect from the dead for our sins just to make the ONLY way for us to get saved: (John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJB) --- (John 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJB) Only an infinite God of great love is capable of such a deep level of love and involvement in the lives of so many people. That is the God we have and the One we read about in the Word of God; He is a God who knows and calls us by name. God is a loving Father who will never abandon, forsake, or forget His children: (Hebrews 13:5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJB) But the most important truth about God, His love for us, and how He knows our names is we must be one of His children for Him to always be by our sides and living in us: (Romans 8:9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJB) So the most important question you will ever answer and the one you must get right in this life before you die is “do you know the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour?” If you are not saved then right now the wrath of God is resting on your shoulders and the only answer for you is salvation in the Lord Jesus: (John 3:18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJB) --- (John 3:36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJB) My prayer as a true Bible Christian and as the Pastor of this great Church is that today you realize God has moved your life around and brought you here today for you to get the question of your personal salvation settled, and you finally get saved. Don’t waste this opportunity God is giving you! Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” March 3, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” where today is a very special day for me and Sister Pam because we’ve been gone for a week working at my mother’s house to get it ready to sell, and we sure have missed you our brothers and sisters in Christ; Pastor does not like being gone from our Church. There is an old saying “that distance makes the heart grow fonder” and I can surely attest to that because I have surely missed all of you this week. For the true Bible believing Christian we understand the importance of the phrase of “Looking Seriously At The Source” because we know our feelings, our love, our fondness for one another all springs from the heart of the Christian where the Holy Spirit lives within us. The Bible, the Word of God shows us this truth in: (Luke 6:45) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (KJB) But this verse also shows us the truth that what comes from out of our mouths also comes from within our hearts too. For an illustration to this truth of “Looking Seriously At The Source” a Missionary by the name of “David Livingstone” that lived between 1813-1873 was in Africa exploring so future missionaries would be able to work in the heart of Africa and understand more of that continent. As an explorer, he made major geographical discoveries at a time when the interior of the continent was largely unknown to the outside world. After making one of the first successful crossings of Africa from the Atlantic to Indian Oceans, Livingstone’s final great expedition was a search to verify whether Lake Victoria in Tanzania was indeed the source of the Nile River as earlier explorers had speculated. Although Livingstone didn’t reach Lake Victoria, he was correct that it was the source of the great Nile River. He said this of his life and of his mission work in Africa “I am prepared to go anywhere, provided it be forward. --- I will place no value on anything I have or may possess except in relation to the kingdom of Christ. --- All that I am I owe to Jesus Christ, revealed to me in His divine Book.” Just as understanding the source of the Nile would shape Europeans understanding of the continent of Africa, so it is for us today when we understand the source from which our words and actions flow—which is from our hearts. It is what is on the inside of us, rather than outward circumstances and events that dictate our responses. When people speak harsh and biting words, or respond with a lack of compassion and love toward others, it shows that there is an internal problem with the heart. Too often we make excuses for ourselves or others, saying things like, “I didn’t really mean that.” Yet Jesus taught that our words are the overflow of our hearts in: (Matthew 12:34-35) O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (KJB) If we are focused on changing our behavior by changing our surroundings, we are doomed to failure. If we believe we can fix our lives and the problems of life by our own efforts we are also doomed to failure. The only way we can make the outside (our lives) what it should be is to first fix what is on the inside-the heart, and only God can do that! The Holy Spirit wrote through Solomon “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23 KJB). When we love God and love others as we are commanded to do, it will impact our lives, our words, and our deeds. If you want your words and actions (your life) to be right, you must first make sure your heart is right, and we get the heart right by knowing the Lord Jesus Christ in the free pardon and forgiveness of sin first. When we have this right then our lives get right by us living for Jesus and living for the cause of Christ and when we do this we can love the brethren as God intended for us to do: (1 Peter 1:22) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: (KJB) Me and Sister Pam are thankful that we are back home here in Lighthouse for this Sunday Service and our prayer as always is for each of you to be drawn closer to the Lord Jesus by something that will be preached or said here today in Lighthouse. But if you are not saved my prayer is that you will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to your need of salvation and I pray that today will be the very day that you get saved. If you are already saved my prayer is that whatever storm you are going through that you keep your eyes of faith on the Lord Jesus and that you trust Him for your every need. The lost world and even weak in the faith Christians sometimes become tools that the devil uses to defeat us that are trying to live faithfully for the Lord Jesus, so just as brother Livingstone said “Nothing earthly will make me give up my work in despair. --- If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don't want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all.” Would to God we were all made of this kind of dedication for Christ, and we can be if our “Source” is in Christ, and not in ourselves. 24/02/2019

“From The Pastor’s Desk” February 24, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for our services today and this week where the Word of God will be preached gun-barrel straight and the Lord Jesus will be presented in His true light as God in the flesh and as God’s only begotten Son. As a Christian I’m thankful for the Pastors I have had through the years that have preached to me the Word of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. There are so many people out there in the world today and especially young people that have been fooled and blinded by Satan and his forces to the point of not realizing who Jesus is, and that there is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun. The Bible speaks very clearly of them in: (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJB) But “One Of The Most Important Characteristics Of A True Bible Christian” is they know who Jesus is (God in the flesh), and they realize the importance of God’s Word (our KJB1611) in their life and the study of it. But the Holy Spirit has preserved for us today in His Word the name of a man “Apollos” that was a staunch student of the Scriptures and I think it’s amazing what the Holy Spirit says of this man in: (Acts 18:23-25) And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples. And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. (KJB) As Bible Christians today this should be said of all of us! But throughout Christian history there have been other men and women that were also staunch students of God’s Word but there was another man named “John Broadus” who was a powerful preacher of the Word of God. In fact “Charles Spurgeon” called him the “greatest of living preachers.” But this man made an even greater impact on training preachers of the Gospel, helping to found seminaries, and serving as a teacher for many years. His book, “On the Preparation and Delivery of Sermons” (I have this book in my library) remains one of the most influential books on the subject nearly 150 years after it was first published. Broadus died at just sixty-eight years of age. In his final lecture, delivered just nine days before his death, he told his students, “Gentlemen, if this were the last time I should ever be permitted to address you, I would feel amply repaid for consuming the whole hour endeavoring to impress upon you these two things: true piety, and, like Apollos, to be men ‘mighty in the Scriptures.’” There are many things that people do for God which require special gifts and abilities. Some are more talented in certain areas while others excel in different spheres. But every Christian can be powerful in the Word of God (our KJB1611) by having it in our hearts and minds. It simply requires that we read it, study it, hear it preached and taught, learn it, and we meditate on the Bible in our lives as true Bible Christians. It is not a lack of talent in our lives that hinders the Christian from being used of God but it is the lack of His Word in our lives that hinders us, and this is why the Holy Spirit wrote of the importance of His Word in: (2 Timothy 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (KJB) ---- (2 Timothy 3:16-17) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (KJB) It is also a lack of work that keeps people from being strong in the Word because if we are going to be the Christian that God wants us to be there must be some serious personal study of God’s Word in our lives which will take some work. Some of God’s greatest and most effective servants have not been the most gifted, but those who were willing to invest the time and effort to become people of the Word. The more importance you place on the Word of God, the more effective your service for the Lord will be. There is many a person, and especially the young that are struggling in this world with personal problems that seem to them to be insurmountable. They live with feelings of hopelessness in their lives because they are unsaved, or they have some form of dead religion in their life, and in their families, or at the most they are saved but not faithfully in Church. Sadly they don’t have it in their heart and mind the importance of God’s Word and the study of it for the help they need. For those that are unsaved they need to get saved and get in a Bible believing and Bible preaching Church. For those that are saved but unfaithful they need to get in God’s Word and stay there studying it and also get in a Bible believing and Bible preaching Church where the Lord Jesus is preached as the ONLY way into God’s Heaven, and where they will hear the Word of God for the help they need in life: (Romans 10:17) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

17/02/2019

“From The Pastor’s Desk” February 17, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for another wonderful service where we come together for a time of worship, praise, prayer, Bible study, and for the preaching of the Word of God. Each service we have here in our Church we pray that God would let us sense His Presence and I as your Pastor pray that He would fill me with His Spirit for the preaching of His Word. “The Presence Of The Lord” will be felt here in God’s House as the Lord Jesus is lifted up, and as God’s Word (our KJB1611) is preached. The Bible has many instances where the Holy Spirit recorded for us the phrase “The Presence Of The Lord” and the first such occurrence is in: (Genesis 3:8) And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. (KJB) God had created man to have a creature that would “voluntarily” love and fellowship with Him. However, that fellowship after they sinned was ruined. Though Adam and Eve had not immediately died physically, their spiritual relationship with God did at this point. The sin of Adam and Eve started the process of dying in mankind and death started slowly taking its toll: (Romans 5:12) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (KJB) Mankind also became impaired mentally. The human race to this day does not have the intellectual capacity it had prior to the fall of man (remember Adam named all the animals prior to his sin). With guilt and shame, Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God. The presence of the Lord can be either a cause of fear or a source of blessing. Adam and Eve were greatly afraid of His presence because of their sin, and their son Cain “went out from the presence of the LORD” because of his sin in killing his brother Able: (Genesis 4:16) And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. (KJB) Yet to the true Bible Christian it will also be a time of great joy such as we experience in various meetings we have here in Lighthouse, or in the meetings we’re able to attend in other Bible believing, and Bible preaching churches when God’s presence is felt: (1 Thessalonians 2:19) For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? (KJB) But the difference between fear or blessing is of course the presence or absence of unforgiven sin, in the presence of the Lord. Most of the sixteen occurrences of this phrase stress the judgmental aspect that faces mankind. Those who reject Christ’s offer of forgiveness through repentance and faith in His death, burial, and resurrection for our sins will eventually be banned forever from His presence, just like Cain was banned: (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9) And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJB) But for those who have repented of their sins and trusted in Christ for salvation, the prospect of the coming and personal presence of the Lord Jesus is one of joyful anticipation: (Psalms 16:11) Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (KJB) When the Lord Jesus comes again in the Rapture of the Church, we shall be presented “faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 1:24) Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (KJB) and shall for all eternity “ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (KJB) As true Bible Christians I’m thankful and very blessed to know that we have God’s Word on it that we will never be without the Lord’s Presence in our lives: (Hebrews 13:5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJB) ---- (Psalms 139:7-10) Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. (KJB) The lost world doesn’t care about God’s Presence, and the religious but lost world have nothing but dead man-made religion that Satan is using in their life to blind them into the fires of Hell. But we that are saved have God’s promise of His Presence in our lives each day; what a blessing this is to us as Hell-deserving saved sinners. Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

10/02/2019

“From The Pastor’s Desk” February 10, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for our services today and this week. We had the funeral service for “Sister Teresa Scott” here on Saturday with “Preacher John Correll” and me bringing the messages, with Brother Russell Ledford singing two of Sister Teresa’s favorite songs. The service was very good and I really believe that we not only honored Sister Teresa but also honored the Lord Jesus with both of us using the clear testimony of salvation that Sister Teresa left us, and also the clear message of the Gospel. The salvation of a lost sinner is an amazing thing and I’m thankful for Sister Teresa’s salvation because it made it very easy to preach her funeral message. But I think back to the day she got saved 14 years ago here in Lighthouse and the obstacles she had to overcome before she got saved. She could not overcome them in her own strengths but as the Holy Spirit worked in her heart sending the conviction of sin, and of her personal need of salvation she had to see herself as a guilty lost Hell bound sinner in need of the Saviour first before she got saved. But everyone basically gets saved the same way by grace and through faith but the circumstance of our salvation experiences do vary. God’s salvation starts by us “Looking Clearly At Ourselves” and then seeing our need. The Holy Spirit recorded some Scriptures for us in Isaiah 6:3 that I think will help us with the theme for this letter: (Isaiah 6:3-5) And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. (KJB) For an illustration to this truth I read about a young couple who moved into a new home. As they ate breakfast together on their first morning there, the lady who lived next door was hanging her laundry on an old fashioned clothes line to dry in the sun. “That laundry doesn’t look very clean,” the wife remarked to her husband. “Perhaps her washing machine doesn’t work very well, or she should try a different laundry soap.” Each time the neighbor hung her laundry, the lady made a comment on how dirty it looked. Then a few weeks later, something changed. “Wow her laundry looks clean this morning,” the lady said. “She must have changed something.” “Not really,” her husband replied. “I washed our windows.” Many times through life we are quick to see the flaws and faults in others. Those failings may be imagined or real, but in either case they seem glaring to us. On the other hand, our own faults frequently seem to escape our attention. Isaiah was a prophet with a message from God for a people who were not living right or even willing to look at themselves. At first Isaiah’s focus was on the people, and if you read the first few chapters of Isaiah, you will find the phrase “Woe To Them” which was a repeated theme. But when the prophet Isaiah saw God and his own sinfulness, his first concern was not for the people, but for himself he said “Woe Is Me.” Measured against God’s perfect holiness, all of us fall very short and we all stand in need of God’s mercy, love, and grace. Our first concern should always be our own lives, are we the Christian we say we are, and are we bringing glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ rather than comparing ourselves to others excusing our own faults, sins, and mistakes. Before anyone ever gets saved they must quit looking at others and see themselves as a lost sinner heading for Hell. Our own goodness and righteousness that we claim for salvation is nothing but “Filthy Rags” in God’s eyes: (Isaiah 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJB) But oh the sweetness that God’s salvation was to us when we realized His love, mercy, and grace that He gave us when we realized the day we quit looking at others and looking for excuses and started looking at the Lord Jesus and we got saved. If you are reading this letter and are not saved you need to quit looking at the religious but lost world that is all around us and see the Lord Jesus hanging on the Cross of Calvary dying for your sins. Jesus shed His precious sinless blood for your sins, and took your place on the Cross becoming your substitute and then see “Yourself” and your need to be saved. The ONLY way you will ever live in God’s Heaven after you die is if you are born-again as the Lord Jesus (God in the flesh) commanded for everyone: (John 3:3, 7) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (Vs.7) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (KJB) As long as Satan can get you to look at other people’s fault and not see your own he will continue to blind you into Hell: (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJB) Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas

“From The Pastor’s Desk” February 3, 2019 Welcome to “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church” for the start of a brand new week the good Lord has given us, and to another service in Lighthouse where the Lord Jesus will be lifted up in praise and worship by song, and by the preaching of His Word. As true Bible Christians we have no problem making much of the Lord Jesus in our lives because of our free-gift of salvation that He has given us so “The Cross Of Christ And Our Christian Life” go hand in hand. The Bible makes this truth very clear about the Christian and the Cross in their life when the Lord Jesus said in: (Luke 9:22-24) Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. (KJB) Even as Bible Christians we can’t even begin to carry that Cross that the Lord Jesus carried but the Lord Jesus makes it very clear about Crosses in the Christian life here in Luke. The Lord Jesus uttered a criteria here of continuing discipleship which is a principle or standard by which something may be judged or decided. For the first time in Luke’s account, the Cross is mentioned. The path of discipleship is not easy. In light of what lay ahead (Calvary and later persecution), the Lord Jesus noted that if anyone would come after Him, three things would be required in the Christian’s life: (1) To deny one’s self. The denial of self is a major step of being a genuine disciple of Jesus Christ. (2) To “take up his cross daily.” (3) Then “Follow Me.” The path of the true Christian never has been easy and never will be until the Lord Jesus returns in the Rapture. And this is one reason why we see so many people that just profess to be saved but actually aren’t; they don’t have a life that proves they’re truly saved: (2 Corinthians 13:5) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (KJB) The Cross was actually a symbol of shame, death, reproach, and persecution. Under the Roman occupation of Israel crucifixion was not uncommon the Jews clearly understood the figure of speech to take up one’s Cross. It was the same as death to them! Christian discipleship requires the true believer to daily be willing to face the reproach of Christ and the offence of the Gospel and not back down, or fail in standing up for Jesus. There is surely no more recognized symbol of Christianity than the Cross. We see it on buildings, in art, in cemeteries, in churches, and on clothing and jewelry. Yet the actual Cross was nothing less than an instrument of torture and execution perfected by the Romans. And while we often speak of the Cross in figurative terms, the Cross that the Lord Jesus carried was real. It was made from heavy wood, and He was forced to carry His own means of death to the place where He would die. When the weight of the Cross caused the Lord Jesus to collapse, another person (Simon the Cyrenian) was compelled to carry that Cross in His place but the Cross of Calvary which was so heavy with the weight of sin that only the Lord Jesus could take it all the way to Calvary: (John 19:17) And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: (KJB) Today when Jesus instructs us to take up our Cross and follow Him, He is not telling us how to have our “Best Life Now” as one of Satan’s favorite apostate so-called preacher spews out of his mouth and then into type in his book says. The Lord Jesus is calling us to a life of service and sacrifice according to the example that He set for us. Of course, simply knowing this does not make doing what we should do and how we should live easy. Many times we are tempted to avoid a particular Cross that entails hardship or suffering, and persecution. Charles Spurgeon said, “Any cross but the one I have,” cried one. “Surely it would not be a Cross if you had the choosing of it, for it is the essence of a Cross that it should run counter to our likings.” Being the Saviour of all mankind and the suffering the Lord Jesus endured was not free or an easy thing for the Lord Jesus to do and be, so we as Christians today should not expect our service to Him to come without cost to us personally. We cannot truly be followers of the Lord Jesus Christ if we shy away from the sacrifice of bearing the Cross. If you that get and read this letter are not saved I as the Pastor of Lighthouse want you to know that Jesus loves you and He suffered, bled, died, and bodily resurrected from the grave just so you could hear the truth of this letter and the Gospel message and get saved. If you are saved but not living faithfully according to what God’s Word teaches for the believer I invite you to get right with the Lord and then get yourself into a solid Bible believing, and Bible preaching Church to serve the Lord Jesus out of. Your Pastor: Robert W. Lucas
